Taylor's Graduation, New car, and Special Announcement!

Nate was racing at Regionals and would be gone for an entire week.  Not wanting to be alone for that long, I went up north to visit my family and watch Taylor's graduation. He did it!
We had been searching for about five or six months for a different car.  We wanted one that was a little more reliable that the Saturn.  We didn't have a lot of money to spend and so we didn't want to jump into anything too fast.  Eventually our patience paid off and we found this beauty in St. George for $3,700.  It is a Toyota Corolla 2003 with only 115,00 miles on it. It is also automatic!  We sold our Saturn about a week later for $1000. This is our first large purchase and we learned a lot!

We also went camping with our ward friends at Red Cliffs.  It was so beautiful and a great time.

Our special announcement!! We have another baby on the way:) I was 10wks along in this picture.  We are still going to have our Midwife Laurie Hansen help us out with everything.  We loved being with her the first time.  Our next sweet baby is due on January 11th 2015! Two January babies:)

Memorial Day and Grandparents (KLING) Adventure

Leslie's headstone was finished before memorial day and we were able to decorate it! It made and continues to make me happy to see that it all looks so nice:)

This is a postcard from Grandma Kling from the Oregon coast.  My grandparents are doing a coast to coast bike ride from Oregon to Maine.  They are awesome!

Nate's Conference Championship Race in Flagstaff, AZ

Flagstaff is about five hours from Cedar City so I was able to go and watch Nate race.  This race was important because Nate had been injured most of the season and wasn't able to qualify for Regionals yet.

Nate raced his heart out and was able to qualify for Regionals today after only a few months of training.  What a hard worker!
Nate placed third behind two nationally ranked NAU guys in the 10k and took 5th in the 5k the next day.

Good job Nate! So Proud of you!
Nate raced at Regionals and took 19th.  He was ranked 43rd going into the race so he was happy with how he was able to do even though he didn't make it to Nationals this year.

Graduation Day

SUU only does a graduation ceremony once a year, so I had to wait five months to walk.  I am glad that I did.  It was fun to see my professors and family.

The SUU science building. This where I spent most of my countless hours learning and studying.

Easter 2014 and Nate's Birthday

For Easter weekend the Jewkes, Simpson, Allred and Knudsen side of the family came down to St. George for some warmer fun.  Nate didn't have any races this weekend and being so close, we got to join in on all the fun.  The Simpsons had recently got a new boat and so we dedicated one of the days to boating at Sand Hollow.

We each took our turns to wake board.  It looks warm out there, but it was actually pretty cold.  After getting into the water we bundled up in towels and sweat shirts on the boat.

We also participated in the annual Easter Egg Roll.

Nate also celebrated his 24th birthday this weekend! It was fun to celebrate it with all the family. I made Nate a "Too Much Chocolate, Chocolate Cake" for his birthday cake.

Nate got an SUU hat, gift cards, mint chocolates and a lunch sack that he could take to work and school.
 Happy Birthday!!
